From passion to pastry
Scoops & Smiles started with a whim, a prayer, and a whole lot of passion for pastry. We believed that desserts are more than just the final course—they’re art that deserves its own creative space (and let’s be honest, some very specific equipment!). Our first delicious creations made their debut at Eat Street in Melbourne’s Sofitel, and funnily enough, our very first customer ended up marrying two of our founders, Paul and Kate, as their celebrant! Talk about love at first bite.
The dream team behind Scoops & Smiles is a trio of dessert enthusiasts with their own unique talents. Daniel, our resident pastry wizard, is always on the lookout for new ways to push the boundaries of dessert-making. Kate, our front-of-house superstar, has the tough job of taste-testing all of Dan’s creations (we know, someone’s got to do it!). And then there’s Paul, a seasoned chef with a burning passion to see more incredible desserts on plates—and fewer chefs stressing out in the kitchen to make that happen!
Today, Daniel, Kate, and Paul lead a committed team of top pastry chefs – our family of kitchen maestros! They all work hard to continually be Melbourne’s premium dessert manufacturers and keep creating sweet treats that make everyone want to skip main meals and go straight to dessert!
